Jake is an amazing 4 year old boy who also happens to be an angel sent from God to make a positive impact on as many people as possible. We have seen the affect Jake has on people and its truly incredible. The tears of worry and despair from when he spent his first weeks in the NICU have transformed into constant tears of joy we now share with an extended network of family and friends. To watch Jake sit on his own for 25 seconds at age 3 to taking his first steps in a walker in May of 2007 is to watch the human spirit triumph.
Jake was diagnosed at 6 months of age with Pallister-Killian Syndrome. Pallister-Killian Mosaic Syndrome or PKS is a chromosome abnormality when a tetrasomy of the short arm of chromosome 12 (12p) occurs for no known reason.
